”Just For Kids” Summertime Activities Program
Inn of the Mountain Gods Kid Activities is a fun-filled place designed for children 5-12 years old. Kid Activities are offered Friday and Saturdays from the summer months of June to the end of September. Additional activities are offered on holiday weekends. Your little ones will experience activities that are fully supervised that include arts and crafts, outdoor and indoor activities, games, movies, special theme activities, prizes, lunch or dinner and a snack. "Just for Kids" cost is $25.00 to $55.00 per child for each activity. Call our Concierge desk for more information at (888) 324-0348.

Sporting Clay Range
The sporting clay range, located at the hunt lodge at Inn of the Mountain Gods, is open year-round, weather permitting. The range is also closed during scheduled Big Game Hunts. Range hours are 7:00 AM to 2:30 PM daily and the full course at the range typically takes an hour to complete depending on your group size. The cost is $25.00 for 50 targets per person when a shooter provides their own gun and shells. Full rental is $50.00, which includes gun, shells, 50 clay targets, and eye and ear protection. Horseback Riding Stables
The Inn of the Mountain Gods is the perfect mountain retreat facility. Our riding stables are open seasonally from April-October weather permitting and not during scheduled Big Game Hunting. Daily trail rides run at 9:00 AM, 11:00 AM, 1:00 PM and 3:00 PM and last 1 hour. Guests who plan on riding longer are asked to make a reservation. The cost is $30.00 per hour / person (riding doubles is not allowed). Riders must be at least 8 years of age.

Fitness Room and Pool
The Inn of the Mountain Gods mountain retreat facility includes a beautiful indoor pool, 15-person hot tub and state-of-the-art fitness facility for our guests. Pool and hot tub hours are 6:00 AM to 10:00 PM daily. There is no lifeguard on duty, so children 16 and under must be accompanied by an adult.

Adjacent to our pool is the fitness center ... fully equipped with free weights, circuit weights and cardiovascular equipment. The fitness room is available daily from 6:00 AM to 10:00 PM. Men's and women's locker rooms are available for guest use and inside each are saunas and steam rooms.

Arcade
The arcade is located directly behind the concierge desk at the the Inn's Grand Lobby. It's a great place to play your favorite games as we have numerous arcade style games, several pool tables, a foosball table, an air hockey game and a CD jukebox ... and of course a change machine for your convenience. We require all children 14 and under to be accompanied by an adult. Arcade hours are 9:00 AM - 10:00 PM daily.

Bird Watching
Birds abound in Mescalero and Ruidoso New Mexico and the surrounding Lincoln National Forest. The area is close to migratory bird flyways.

Fishing
You can fish right at the Inn on beautiful Lake Mescalero. Just purchase a special day license at the Boat Docks' office or the fitness center located on the second floor of the Inn of the Mountain gods. Licenses are available for purchase on February 1st, 2008. We have stocked the Lake with 20,000 trout this year alone. And we'll even provide fishing equipment rental if you choose to leave your tackle box and pole at home! Click here for all the details. Additionally, the neighboring village of Ruidoso, New Mexico is also surrounded by lakes and streams stocked with rainbow trout by the New Mexico Game and Fish Department.

Golf
Ruidoso, New Mexico has three beautiful and challenging golf courses including our own championship course. There are other courses nearby in Cloudcroft and Carrizozo. Sunny western weather and cool summers make New Mexico golf enjoyable nine months out of the year.

Hiking and Camping
The Lincoln National Forest and two wilderness areas provide opportunities for hiking, backpacking and camping in terrain that ranges from the easily accessible to remote rugged wilderness.

The area around Ruidoso, New Mexico offers some of the best seasonal hunting and fishing in the Southwest.
